Most prominent in the 1960's Black Power emphasized pride in ones race and the creation of Black institutions to advance collective values. Most African American's believed if their community was united, with everyone on the same page they could make a difference- black power helped them to achieve this. This school of thought was also a call to action- created a more radical thought.
